There was a half off-special on Shutterfly last week for printing a photo on plates. Normally they run at 20 bucks a plate, but at 10 dollars I just had to get my succulent balloons on real plates. I changed my original colors a bit so I could match my set of West Elm cups.
I was afraid the colors would come out different than my images but they are pretty close to what they looked on the screen. I’m quite happy with the result.
The Shutterfly plates are made of melamine, perfect for summer barbecues. They don’t go in the microwave, but that’s not a problem for me since I don’t use one :).
If another special ever come up again, I’d love to print a different color palette. One I tried with primarily yellow and blue, I imagine it would look great on a French provencal style table setting.
